Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif today said the situation of Bangladesh will never be like Sri Lanka and the dream of BNP over the Bangladesh-Sri Lanka situation will soon be faded.
“Those who do not like the development of the country and express jealously by observing the development spree of the country, are spreading falsehood that Bangladesh will face the situation as like Sri lanka,” he said.
He was talking to the reporters after discussing the murder of journalist Hasibur Rahman Rubel at the AL leader’s residence on PTI Road in Kushtia, reports BSS.
He further said that but their (BNP’s) dream in this regard will be faded soon as the infrastructure and economy of the country are not same like Sri Lanka. BNP leaders also saw such dreams over past events in Egypt, he added.
At the time, he said, the Home Ministry had been asked to file a case of murder of journalist Rubel, whose body was recovered on July 3 last beneath the Kumarkhali Bridge after five days of his disappearance, with Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI).
“After a quick investigation, the actual facts of this case will be revealed and the culprits will be brought under the purview of law,” he added.
About the blame of BNP's secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir that the government is responsible for the murder of Jubo Dal leader in Jashore, Hanif threw questioned to BNP: “Did Mirza Fakhrul Saheb accept the responsibility for killing 26,000 Awami League leaders and activists before making such allegations?”
District Awami League joint general secretary Sheikh Hasan Mehedi, organizing secretary Mazharul Alam Sumon and other party leaders and workers were present on the occasion.
