Govt stole everything from mega projects to widow allowance: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has alleged that Tk 1o lakh crore has been plunded during the tenure of the current government. He said, "They are smuggling the wealth of the country abroad. Where didn't the government steal? From mega projects to unemployment allowance, old age allowance, widow allowance, they have stolen.

Fakhrul was speaking at a huge rally on Komorpur Abdul Aziz Institution's premises, around 6km away from Faridpur district town.

As part of the party’s planned divisional rally, Faridpur district unit BNP organised the programme.

Mirza Fakhrul said Awami League will not be allowed to play games any more in the name of election.

“You went to power by playing games in the name of elections last two times by deceiving people and telling them lies. But this time we have turned around and people too. This time there will be no election unless caretaker government is installed in the country,” he said.

Mirza Fakhrul said, 'Awami League government has destroyed the country after coming to power.

He said The Awami League government has destroyed politics, destroyed the country's economy, destroyed our future.

Addressing the Awami League, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, 'They think this country is their father's country, and everyone else is a slave. But this situation will not continue, people have turned around. They will not return home until elections are arranged under a neutral government, he added.
