Awami League (AL) Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak today said BNP is creating anarchy in the name of movement in the country to free its party chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and bring back their convicted leader Tarique Rahman.

"BNP has no responsibility to the country, it is hatching conspiracy against the country as well as the people," Nanok told journalists after visiting historic Suhrawardy Udyan where party's stage and decoration sub-committee is working to prepare the ground for party's national council to be held on December 24.

AL Presidium Member Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya Bir Bikram and AL Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim were present.

Nanak said BNP-Jamaat had created anarchic situation in the country in 2014 in the name of movement. They are now trying to create an unstable situation again, he said, adding that the law enforcement agencies will thwart their conspiracies.

He urged party leaders and activists to remain alert against BNP's any kind of plot.

About the party's national council, the Al presidium member said the national council will be held on limited scale due to global crisis.

Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya said preparation for the council is going on properly in line with the directives of Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

AL Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim said BNP-Jamaat had created militancy in the country. The militants had launched a series bomb attacks simultaneously in the country under the patronization of BNP-Jamaat on August 17, 2005.

BNP-Jamaat had tried to kill AL President Sheikh Hasina launching grenade attacks on August 21, 2004. AL government rooted out the militancy from the country, he added.
