Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said his party will give befitting reply to any kind of conspiracy and violence in the name of anti-government movement.
"AL will respond appropriately to violence and conspiracy in the name movement as the party is much united and stronger than any time of past under Sheikh Hasina's leadership," he said after paying tributes to Bangabandhu on his Homecoming Day.
The minister paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreath at his portrait at Bangabandhu Bhaban in city's Dhanmondi-32 area.
After laying the wreath, he told reporters that Bangladesh achieved victory in 1971 through the surrender of the Pakistani occupation forces.
"But, this victory was incomplete until Sheikh Mujib, the great hero of the victory, who was imprisoned in Pakistan, was released and returned home," he said.
Quader said the victory of Bangladesh got completion on January 10, 1972.
He said that the firm promise of the Homecoming Day of Bangabandhu is to build an ideal country as the Father of the Nation’s dream.
Quader said: "Under the leadership of Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, we will build the 'Sonar Bangla' to materialize the Bangabandhu's dream maintaining the development spree of the country."
He, as well, pledged to build a developed and prosperous 'Smart Bangladesh' by 2041.
