Hanif urges BNP to prepare for next election

Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif on Monday urged BNP to prepare for participating in the next parliamentary polls for sake of their own existence in politics, saying that no election will be held in the country in an unconstitutional way.

"If you want to exist in politics, take preparations for participating in the next parliamentary elections, which will be held under the current government as well as Election Commission as per the constitution. No election will be held in the country through unconstitutional process, excluding the government," he said referring to BNP.

The AL leader said these replying to a question from journalists after attending the inaugural function of Annual Sports Competition in Kushtia Mohini Mill Ideal College playground here in the morning.

Noting that BNP has been trying to topple the government since 2013, Hanif said BNP doesn't have the strength to oust the government from the office by agitation, even there is no such political force in the country.

BNP's movement is nothing but cheating with their own activists and supporters, and the people of the country, he said, adding, "Their current statements are the part of that fraudulence."

Speaking about the BDR munity in Pilkhana, the AL leader said Begum Khaleda Zia's movements and behavior on that day are suspicious, which indicated her involvement in the incident.

Mentioning that BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul is now talking perplex, Hanif said, "Please, explain where Begum Zia hid herself for two days since that morning".

Selim Altaf George, MP, Kushtia Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Saidul Islam and district Sports Council General Secretary Advocate Anup Kumar Nandi were present at the function, among others.
