BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed deep concern over the massive fire in Banga Bazar of the capital.
In a statement sent to the media on Tuesday (April 4), the BNP leader said, "I am deeply concerned about the massive fire in Dhaka's Banga Bazar." I express my deepest condolences to the affected businessmen and shopkeepers who lost money invested in shop business before Eid. There has been no proper investigation or specific remedy for all such incidents in the past. People's lives have no value during this government.
Mirza Fakhrul said that such incidents are happening one after another but the government is not able to prevent them. The tragic incident of fire in Banga Bazar today is mysterious.
Due to the indifference and lack of accountability of the present government, such tragic incidents are repeated again and again - which cannot be desirable in any way, he added.
Mirza Fakhrul demanded a fair and impartial investigation into all the fires, including the Banga Bazar fire. At the same time, he urged the government to compensate the affected traders.
