In a reaction after Md. Sahabuddin was sworn in as the 22nd President of Bangladesh on Monday (April 24), BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that BNP has no expectations from the new President Sahabuddin.

He said, "We are disappointed, whom we do not know, about whom we cannot say much; Such a person is made President. His name was not known to the people at all.

Mirza Fakhrul said, the President has the opportunity to contribute to the resolution of political crises; But there are doubts about how much the new president will do. Because the President has no chance to go beyond the Constitution. And we don't think he (Md. Sahabuddin) has that courage. There is no trust in him. There were many people in Awami League, from whom the people would have been happy if they were president.

The BNP Secretary General gave this response to the new president at the Chairperson's Gulshan party office on Monday afternoon.

Mirza Fakhrul said, "If the government wanted to form a government in a democratic system, then it could have talked with the opposition parties in appointing the president."

Stating that the nation has a different expectation from the new president, Fakhrul said, "The situation has become extremely concentrated on the caretaker government issue. President's role to the people of the country, in politics is not light at all. In that case, the expectation from the President is different this time. Although it is not known what he will say and do. Whether he will be a party member or work for the country will depend on him.
