Rajshahi BNP leader sued for threatening to kill PM

A case has been filed today to the court of additional chief judicial magistrate Netrakona Mohammad Kamal Hussain against Rajshahi district unit BNP convener Abu Sayeed Chand, 66, for threatening to kill Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during a speech on May 19.
General Secretary of Awami League Netrakona district unit Advocate Shamsur Rahman Liton submitted a petition to the court against the BNP leader Chand, the court sources said, adding that the court after hearing the petition took it in cognizance and passed an order to officer-in-charge of Netrakona Sader thana to lodge FIR against the accused person within 24 hours.
Earlier, a series of processions were brought out in Netrakona district town here today by the workers and leaders of Netrakona district Awami League and lawyers of Netrakona district bar association denouncing BNP leader Abu Sayeed Chand for threatening to kill premier Sheikh Hasina.
The protesters chanted different slogans demanding capital punishment of BNP leader Chand.
President of Netrakona district AL Advoacte Amirul Islam, general secretary of the district AL Advocate Shamsur Rahman Liton and general secretary of the district bar association Mohibur Rahman Liton led the processions.
