Sheikh Hasina destroyed Awami League: Amir Khosru

BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said that Sheikh Hasina has destroyed Awami League as a political party.

He said Awami League is not a political party today, they have been sold to the officers, to the police, to the corrupt businessmen. They have no political future.

The BNP leader came up these while addressing a protest rally organized by Noakhali district BNP on Saturday afternoon.

Khosru said, US visa policies have arrived. Despite their (US) repeated requests, the government is not listening to them. The government is arresting the leaders and activists of the opposition party, persecuting and torturing them. Missing, murder, false cases are not closed.

So America gave sanctions seven months ago to get better. So that the people of Bangladesh can freely exercise their civil rights, the government should not stop the freedom of speech of media, freedom of speech of civil society, freedom of speech of opposition parties, every voter can exercise his civil rights in a free environment, The BNP leader added.

Khosru said some agents of the government media, professionals, intellectuals are making excuses to take BNP to elections under Sheikh Hasina. I want to make it clear that BNP will not go to any elections in Bangladesh under Sheikh Hasina.
