4 die of Covid-19, fresh cases 10,888 in 24 hours

A total of least 10,888 new infections were recorded and four people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00am Thursday, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The news release said that the current positivity rate is 26.37 percent while the total positivity rates stood at 13.77 percent.
It added that the total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,180 and the mortality rate stands at 1.70 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 16,53,182.
A total of 41,292 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours. At least 577 patients have recovered from Covid-19 during the period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,54,845 and the recovery rate at 94.05 percent, it added.
Of the four deceased, one was male and three female and they were aged between 21-70 years old.
