Bangladesh has received $2.02 billion in remittances in March, which is the highest amount in last seven months.
Earlier in August of last year, expatriates sent remittances 2.03 billion dollars.
Bangladesh Bank (BB) published the updated information on Sunday (April 2).
March's receipts were nearly 29.3 per cent higher than February's $1.56 billion and 8.5 per cent from $1.85 billion recorded in March last year.
A central bank official said that remittances usually go up before Eid-ul-Fitr, which will be celebrated in the fourth week of this month.
The official also said that the latest inflow of remittances would certainly help both the central bank and the government manage the macroeconomic situation.
