Bollywood star Nora Fatehi has been denied permission to perform at the Global Achievers women entrepreneurship award show in Dhaka due to ongoing foreign currency crunch.

The Ministry of Cultural Affairs issued a notice in this regard Monday (17 October) citing the global dollar crisis and austerity measures as the reason behind the decision.

According to the notification, Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi cannot be given permission to participate in the Global Achievers (Women Entrepreneur Award) program tomorrow at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital. The circular says that the current global condition and the dollar crunch is the reason behind this decision.

Nora Fatehi was supposed to perform in a total of three outfits—while also distributing awards at the programme. All of this was supposed to be within just 40 minutes.

Earlier in December, her visit was cancelled at a private award ceremony for the same reason.

Born in Canada, Nora Fatehi is of Moroccan descent. Currently she is one of the best female dancers in Bollywood. Eye-catching in item songs, Nora danced to popular movie songs like 'Baahubali: The Beginning', 'Kick Two', 'Sher', 'Loafer', 'Satyamev Jayate', 'Stri', 'Bharat', 'Batla House'.
