31 die of Covid-19, fresh cases 13,154 in 24 hours

A total of 31 people died of Covid-19 and at least 13,154 new infections were recorded in 24 hours till 8:00am Tuesday, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The current positivity rate is 29.17 percent while the total positivity rate stood at 14.47 percent.
The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,425 and the mortality rate stands at 1.57 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 18,11,987, added the release.
A total of 45,093 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours. At least 2,721 patients have recovered from Covid-19 during the period.
The news release added that the total number of recoveries now stands at 15,70,934 and the recovery rate at 86.70 percent, it added.
The press release added that of the 31 deceased, 15 were male and 16 were female. Of them, one was between 11-20 years old, one between 31-40, three between 41-50, six between 51-60 and 20 were above 60 years old.
