20 die of Covid-19, fresh cases 3,539 in 24 hours

A total of 20 people died from Covid-19 and at least 3,539 new infections were recorded in 24 hours till 8:00 am on Thursday, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The current positivity rate is 10.24 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.67 percent.
The news release added that the total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,907 and the mortality rate stands at 1.50 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 19,26,570.
A total of 34,547 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours.
At least 11,800 patients have recovered from Covid-19 during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 17,27,866 and the recovery rate at 89.69 percent, added the release.
Of the 20 deceased, 16 were male and 4 were female.
The news release that of them, two were between 31-40, three within 41-50, four between 51-60, five were between 61-70, five within 71-80, and two were 81-90 years old.
