Bangladesh logs one Covid death, 10.87 pc positivity rate

Bangladesh on Monday logged one COVID-19 death after 21 days as zero coronavirus death was recorded since May 31 while the country posted 10.87 percent positivity rate of coronavirus, the highest rate over past four months.
The country reported 873 Covid-19 positive cases as 8,028 samples were tested in the last 24 hours...the country logged more than five percent positivity rate of the deadly virus for five straight days after nearly three and a half months," Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) sources said.
During the past 24 hours, the combined figure of coronavirus infection in Dhaka city and upazilas of the district is 798 while no Covid-19 death was reported during the period.
The official tally showed that the virus killed 29,132 people and infected 19,57,200 so far, the statement added.
The recovery count rose to 19,05,899 after another 92 patients were discharged from the dedicated hospitals during the past one day.
