Hillary Clinton to become a professor at Columbia University

Former US Secretary of State and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will join the Columbia University teaching staff in February, the school announced Thursday.

Clinton, who also previously served as New York's senator, will join as a professor of practice at the School of International and Public Affairs, and as a presidential fellow at Columbia World Projects.

“Given her extraordinary talents and capacities together with her singular life experiences, Hillary Clinton is unique, and, most importantly, exceptional in what she can bring to the University’s missions of research and teaching, along with public service and engagement for the public good,” Columbia President Lee Bollinger wrote in an email Thursday.

Clinton has previous connections to Columbia, most recently speaking at a "Get Out The Vote" women's rally hosted by the school this fall, as well as receiving an honorary doctorate at the 2022 Commencement ceremony.

“I am honored to join Columbia University, and the School of International and Public Affairs and Columbia World Projects,” Clinton said about her appointment.

“Columbia’s commitment to educating the next generation of U.S. and global policy leaders, translating insights into impact, and helping to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges resonates personally with me," she added.
