Young journalist and author Syed Iftekhar has unwrapped his first rhyme book at the Amar Ekushey Bookfair 2023.
The book ‘Chorar Deshe Jacchi Bheshe Hese Hese’ has been published by ‘Intamin Prokashon’, stall number 259-260-261. Additionally, it is up for grabs at two online bookshops Rokomari and Boierduniya.
Bengalis have a significant heritage of rhyme. People used to recite rhymes back in the day, but that is no longer the case nowadays. Rhyme's charm is waning.
Iftekhar said, “My rhymes are in simple language that can be recited in a trice. If readers have the opportunity to read rhythmic popular rhymes like before, they will come back, and I want them to. I thus compile all of my best rhymes into a book.”
The book is articulated with the best rhymes published in various national dailies, weeklies, fortnights and online news portals over a long decade and a half. Aadwayto Marout, a well-known children's author and poet wrote the book's foreword.
The readers have already expressed their appreciation for the harmonic rhymes in this book. Some reviewers claim the book is quite handy for reciting rhymes in educational institutions. It is also an inspiration for novice poem writers.
Iftekhar is a well-known face of television media in Bangladesh. For many years he has been presenting news, programs, and talk shows. Also, he manages the responsibilities of the International Desk while working in the newsroom. He also appeared in telefilms and plays. Syed Iftekhar had previously published two joint books, one poem and one rhyme.

He completed his higher degree in Media Studies and Journalism from the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. Subsequently, he attended Dhaka University to further his studies in Television, Film, and Photography. He enjoys making short films and documentaries.
He began his career in television journalism at an early age, in 2007. Eventually, he was a reporter for a few newspapers and an internet publication. In 2014, he joined BanglaNews24.com where he spent four years working in the newsroom and preparing special reports.
He then joined the esteemed news channel Somoy Television. Afterward at the end of 2021, he joined Bangladesh's first business channel, 'Ekhon Television,' as an International Desk In-Charge. He also took journalism classes as a guest lecturer at different academic institutions.
