Pradeep, Liaqat transferred to Chittagong jail from Cox's Bazar

The death row convicts for the murder of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan, Pradeep Kumar Das and Liaqat Ali were transferred to Chittagong central jail on Saturday.
Jailor Mohammad Tariqul Islam Dewan said Pradeep Kumar Das, suspended officer-in-charge of Teknaf police, and Liaqat Ali, inspector of Baharchhara Investigation Centre, were brought to Chittagong jail from Cox's Bazar under special arrangements at 1.25pm.
Earlier On January 31, Cox's Bazar District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Ismail awarded death sentence to Liaqat Ali and Pradeep, and six others to life term imprisonment in the murder case of Major Sinha. The court also acquitted seven others from the charges.
