Search committee released the list of suggested names

The search committee on Monday has published the list of names proposed for the post of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and Election Commissioners (EC).

All the proposed names of individuals, parties, organizations were published on the website of the cabinet on this evening. A total of 322 names were published in it.

Among these names are- Journalist Ajay Das Gupta, Advocate Abdul Mataleb Mia, Adv. Sultana Kamal, Professor Abdul Mannan Chowdhury, Chairman of the University Grants Commission Professor Abdul Mannan, former Information Commissioner Golam Rahman, Professor. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, former vice chancellor of the National University Aaron Aur Rashid, Professor Dr. Kazi Deen Mohammad, former caretaker government adviser Prof. Sufia Rahman, Professor Syed Manjurul Islam, Former Vice Chancellor of DU Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique etc.

Earlier, the search committee issued a notification calling for the names of eligible persons from the registered political parties, professional organizations and individuals. Responding to the call, 24 registered political parties including Awami League and Jatiya Party sent the names of deserving persons to the search committee. Apart from this, names were also proposed from 6 professional organizations.
