Ekushey Padak-winning poet Quazi Rosy dies

Ekushey Padak-winning poet Quazi Rosy from Covid-19 at a city hospital early Sunday. She was 73.
Quazi Rosy was admitted to Square Hospitals in Bangladesh's capital Dhaka on January 30. She was shifted to the ICU and put on life support on January 31, said the poet’s daughter Sumi Sikandar.
Quazi Rosy started her literary career writing poems in the ‘60s and carved her niche with her works, namely, Pathghat Manusher Naam, Nashta Joyar, Amar Piraner Kono Map Nei, Larai, and others.
Besides, her work on martyred poet Meherun Nesa titled Shahid Kabi Meherun Nesa received a huge response from readers. She has also to her credit worked on the poet Rabindranath Tagore tiled Rabindranath: Rasikatar Kabita.
Quazi Rosy received Bangla Academy Literary Award for her contribution to poetry in 2018. Besides, she received Ekushey Padak in 2021.
