Will work to push China-Bangladesh Strategic Partnership to new heights: President Xi

Chinese President Xi Jinping has said Bangladesh-China cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative is making sound progress, injecting new impetus into bilateral relations.
"I am willing to work with you to push China-Bangladesh Strategic Partnership of Cooperation to new heights," he said in a letter of felicitation to President Abdul Hamid on the occasion of the Independence Day of Bangladesh.
President Xi said the government of Bangladesh is taking active measures to fight COVID-19 and striving for social and economic recovery, with remarkable progress already made, and is marching ahead toward the "Sonar Bangla" dream, reports UNB.
"It is deeply delightful for china to see the achievements of Bangladesh," he said.
President Xi said China and Bangladesh are "close neighbors, traditional friends and strategic partners."
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang sent a separate letter of felicitation to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
In the letter, Premier Li said that under her leadership, the people of Bangladesh have fought effectively to control the COVID-19 pandemic, make significant progress in building the country and improving people's livelihood, and expedite towards realization of the "Sonar Bangla" dream. "China congratulates Bangladesh for the achievements."
"I attach great importance to our bilateral relations," he said.
Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, in his letter of Felicitation to Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said in recent years, Bangladesh has sustained a sound momentum of social-economic development, with the living standard of her people improved significantly, and has actively played a contributing role for regional stability and prosperity.
"As the close neighbor and friend, China is delightful to see the achievements of Bangladesh," he said.
