Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Friday warned that action will be taken against those who would try to create trouble in the name of 'Gono Commission' in the country.

"There is no legal basis of any organization named Gono Commission," he told newsmen after the 27th annual conference of Lions Clubs International at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.

"I don't know what the Gono Commission wrote in its letter. We didn't see those names written in the letter were liable for terrorism or corruption. Therefore we cannot say anything about it," Kamal said.

"The law enforcement agencies will take action against those who are involved in extortion after my name," the home minister said. He said everyone is equal in law.

"Whoever commits a crime will be punished. The man who went to extort money using my name has been caught and a weapon was recovered from his possession," the minister added.
