4 with 3 Atomic Energy Commission scientists killed in Savar accident

Four with three scientific officers of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission were killed in a road accident on the Dhaka-Aricha highway of Savar on Sunday morning.

The deceased were Arifuzzaman, Puja Sarker and Kawsar Rabbi and bus driver Rajib Hossain. They were the scientific officers of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission in Ashulia. The accident occurred at Boliapur area at about 9 am.

Fire Service and local sources said a Dhaka-bound cow-laden truck hit a passenger bus from behind while the bus was taking U-turn on the highway.

Later another stuff bus of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission hit the passenger bus, leaving one dead on the spot and 42 others injured.

The injured were admitted to different hospitals in Saver. Savar Fire Service and Civil Defence station officer Nurul Islam said We rescued several injured people. Some injured are still on the spot. Four of our units are working to rescue them.
