President, PM express shock at loss of lives in Panchagarh boat capsize

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed their shock over the tragic death of 24 people in a boat capsize in Korotoya River in Panchagarh.
Earlier, on Sunday, at least 24 people including women and children, were killed after a boat capsized in Panchagarh district Boda Upazila. The incident happened at 2:30 pm today.
Panchagarh Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shafiqul Islam said that 24 bodies have been recovered so far. More than half a hundred are still missing. An operation is underway to rescue them. The death toll may rise further, he said.
