Mokbul Hossain, secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, has been send forced retirement.

The notification signed by KM Ali Azam, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday (October 16).

It was stated in the notification that Information and Broadcasting Secretary Md Makbul Hossain was sent on retirement from the government service as per the Public Servants (Retirement) Act, 1974.

The notification will be effective as soon as possible for public interest.

Md Mokbul Hossain was promoted to the rank of Secretary and was posted to the Information and Broadcasting ministry as Secretary through an official order on May 31, 2021. Before joining the post, he served as Registrar (Additional Secretary) of the Office of Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms. He also served as additional secretary at Jute and Textile ministry.

Makbul Hossain joined the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) as an official of BCS (Admn) cadre in 1991. Most of tenure, he worked at the field level administration. He served as Assistant Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner (Land), First Class Magistrate, Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chief Executive Officer, Zila Parishad, Director, Department of Environment, and Member (Land and Property Management), National Housing Authority.
