Woman tourist gang-raped in Cox’s Bazar

A woman tourist has been gang-raped in Cox’s Bazar. Three men picked up her from the beach area and raped her on Wednesday while keeping her husband and child hostage.
On information, member of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) rescued her from a hotel on Kotwali Road around 1:30am on Thursday.
Lt Col Khairul Islam Sarkar, commander of Rapid Action Battalion-15, Cox’s Bazar, confirmed the incident.
He added: “We have identified the rapists and are conducting drives to arrest them. We have also detained the manager of the hotel.”
The couple and their child, residents of Dhaka's Jatrabari area, went to Cox's Bazar on Wednesday morning. They checked into a hotel and went to Laboni Point on the beach where an altercation took place between her husband and a youth, the victim told RAB after being rescued.
Later, the three men then took her to a hotel and raped her there again, she added.
