The US embassy here today said it supports the call for thorough and transparent investigation over the death of Sayed Faisal, an expatriate Bangladeshi student who was gunned down by police at the city of Cambridge in Massachusetts in the US last week.
“The US Embassy extends its condolences to the family and loved ones of Mr. Sayed Faisal. We support calls for a thorough and transparent investigation by the District Attorney’s Office,” US Embassy Spokesperson Jeff Ridenour said in a statement.
The Bangladesh Association of New England in the US organised protests outside Cambridge City Hall on Thursday, condemning the “brutal killing” of 20-year-old Faisal, a student of the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
In Dhaka this morning, a human chain was formed in front of the foreign ministry demanding justice for the "killing" of Sayed Faisal.
