78 die in jail custody from Jan-Nov 2021: ASK

A total of 78 people have died in jail custody across the country in the last 11 months from January, said rights organisation Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK).
In a report released earlier this month, ASK said of the deceased 26 were convicted while 52 were under trial.
Of the deceased, 39 met custodial death in Dhaka division, 14 in Chattogram, six in Rajshahi, seven in Mymensingh, five in Sylhet, three each in Khulna and Barishal and one in Rangpur.
