Throat-slit bodies of woman, daughter found in Jamalpur

Police have recovered the throat-slit bodies of a woman and her daughter from a house at Gobindapur in Jamalpur’s Melandah upazila.
The deceased are-- Joyful Bewa, 50, wife of Akmal Hossain and her daughter Swapna Begum, 30, of the village.
Melandah Police Station OC MM Moynul Islam confirmed the news.
He said: “Joyful used to live with her daughter, who got divorced from her husband, at the house. On Saturday evening, local people found their bodies lying in a pool of blood and informed police.”
Being information, police recovered the bodies around 7:30 pm on and sent those to Jamalpur General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The reason behind the killing could not be known immediately.
