Shahriar urges all Bangladeshis in Sudan to register for evacuation

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam briefed the media today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the current situation in Sudan and evacuation of Bangladesh citizens stranded in the African country.
There are 1,500 Bangladesh nationals in Sudan, and so far, 700 of them have registered with the Bangladesh Embassy in Sudan.
"On May 2, we hope to bring all 700 Bangladesh nationals who are already registered," he said, adding that arrangements have been made.
Before the briefing, he had a coordination meeting at the ministry with the relevant senior officials
The 700 Bangladeshi nationals will be first taken to Jeddah port in Saudi Arabia from Port Sudan.
The state minister urged the remaining Bangladesh nationals to get registered as the evacuation will begin within a couple of days. Around 35 Bangladesh nationals have safely left Sudan so far, he said.
