Cyclone Mocha: 2 die in St Martin island

At least 2 people has died and 10 sustained injuries while hundreds of houses, hotels and resorts were battered in different areas of the eight-square-kilometre island due to cyclonic storm 'Mocha'.
The entire island has faced extensive damage from uprooted trees blown over by strong winds.
Chairman of Saint Martin Union Parishad, Mujibur Rahman said, after 12 noon, the wind speed increased, many houses were blown away. I heard that a woman and a man died after a tree fell.
More than 6,000 people, mostly women and children, have taken shelter at three cyclone shelters, several educational institutions and over 37 resorts and cottages, said Mr. Mujibur Rahman.
Abdur Rahman, assistant director of Cox's Bazar Meteorological Department, said that the front of the cyclone has moved towards Myanmar via Saint Martin at a speed of 110 to 120 km.
By evening, the intensity of the cyclone will decrease. Due to the cyclone, Cox's Bazar seaport has been asked to show distress signal number 10, he added.
