Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen on Tuesday said Awami League had appointed lobbyist to promote good governance and a positive image of Bangladesh.
Indicating that BNP-Jamaat had appointed lobbyists to prevent trial of war criminals, he said that AL engaged lobbyist to counter the false negative image of Bangladesh propagated by the opposition.
The minister came up with the assertion while talking to journalists in the morning.
“Government appointed what we call a 'PR firm',” the minister said, adding that this is nothing new.
“Such things have been common since the Ershad regime; I’ll talk about it tomorrow,” he added.
In response to a question over whether Bangladesh is going to face difficulties regarding UN peacekeeping missions, he said, “When the UN takes peacekeepers, they select them after background checks. So, we are not too worried about this.”
