Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif on Wednesday said BNP-Jamaat alliance wants to turn Bangladesh into a failed state.
The BNP leaders are plotting intrigues against the present government, he said, adding that they want to pull the country back as they cannot see any development made by the present government.
He was addressing as chief guest at a discussion marking the 102nd birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman organized by Jubo Mohila League at Tungipara. Hanif said BNP-Jamaat has turned the country into a terrorist, corrupt and dysfunctional state while they were in power, reports BSS.
"We all must remain cautious against their plots as the killers of 1975 are still hatching conspiracy against the country," he said.
Hanif said Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been striving hard for overall development of the country which is marching ahead and emerged as a role model for development across the globe.
“We will remain united under the dynamic leadership of Sheikh Hasina to continue keep the pace of development,” he added.
