Mirza Fakhrul makes reckless comments everyday: Quader

Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Sunday said “Awami League’s source of power is not the gun barrel like that of BNP. People are the source of power of Awami League,” he said, addressing the council of 38 number ward of the party’s Dhaka City South unit at Mahanagar Natyamanch here.

Quader said BNP leaders got frustrated and bewildered as they stay out of the state power for long.

“BNP has no public support. People don’t respond to BNP’s call. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir makes reckless comments everyday by holding press briefing. What should I say him? He doesn’t know Awami League. Awami League exists at nobody’s mercy as people are the source of its power,” he said.

AL will exist as long as the ideology of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will exist, he added.

AL Joint General Secretaries -Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni and AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Organizing Secretary Mirza Azam, Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua, Dhaka City South AL President and Valiant Freedom Fighter Abu Ahmed Mannafi, General Secretary Md Humayun Kabir and Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh addressed the function, among others.

Dhaka City South’s 38 number ward AL President Khandker Mainur Rahman Jewel chaired it.
