Awami League Presidium Member and Dhaka city 14-party coordinator Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya Bir Bikram on Tuesday urged the BNP to come back to fair politics.
He made the call while speaking at a meeting of the Dhaka city 14-Party Alliance at central office of the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) on Bangabandhu Avenue here.
Maya said, "We want BNP to come back to fair politics. It should take part in the polls and apologize to the people. If BNP wins the election, we will salute them and put them in power. But if BNP try to conspire against the opening ceremony of the Padma Bridge, it will be dealt with an iron hand."
He said that the manner in which Mirza Fakhrul Islam lied in front of the Press Club from morning till 8 pm has tarnished the sanctity of the Press Club.
Jasad president Hasanul Haque Inu said that Sheikh Hasina had successfully completed the construction of the Padma Bridge beating those who said that building the Padma Bridge was not possible for her. She was also able to continue the trend of high growth of the country's economy.
The Jasad president said after 2009, the BNP-Jamaat clique has failed twice in 2014 and 2018, by conspiring to overthrow the elected government of Sheikh Hasina. BNP-Jamaat-Razakar-militants have started a new conspiracy ahead of the 2023 parliamentary elections, he added.
He said that in order to continue the constitutional process, elections should be held in timely and the problem of rising prices and corruption should also be solved.
