Haji Salim freed on bail

Awami League member of parliament Haji Mohammad Salim, who was in a prison cell at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in the capital, has been freed on bail.
Dhaka Central Jail's deputy jailer Md Salim said they freed Haji Salim on Tuesday afternoon according to the court's rules and removed the prison guards.
On December 6, the Appellate Bench led by Chief Justice Hasan Faiz Siddiqui granted bail to Awami League member of parliament Haji Mohammad Salim, who was sentenced to 10 years in a corruption case. At the same time, Haji Salim was allowed to appeal against the 10-year sentence.
On October 24, 2007, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against Haji Selim in Lalbagh police station on charges of illegal acquisition of wealth.
