Awami League does not believe in gun barrels: Home Minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, Awami League does not believe in gun barrels. Awami League has never come to power through the lobbying of the army, nor will it come in the future.

The Minister came up with this while speaking as the chief guest at a public meeting organized at Comilla's Barura Shaheed Smriti Government College ground on Saturday.

The Minister said that the national elections will be held at the end of this year or early January next year. Awami League believes in elections, does not believe in conspiracy and does not rely on muscle power.

Awami League does not believe in gun barrels. It has never come to power through the influence of the army, nor will it in the future, he added.

The Minister said, our point is clear - the country has a constitution. The country became independent under the leadership of Bangabandhu, we are citizens of an independent country. Elections will be held according to the laws of the country and everyone will participate in those elections.
