Holy Shab-e-Meraj on February 28

The holy Shab-e-Meraj will be observed across the country on the night of February 28 (Monday) this year.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee at the Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram in Dhaka this evening, an Islamic Foundation release said.
In the meeting, chaired by Additional Secretary of Ministry of Religious Affairs Md Munim Hasan, it was said the moon was sighted today in Bangladesh. Therefore, the Holy Rajab month will begin from tomorrow (February 3).
On the night of 26th Rajab every year, Muslims observe Shab-e-Meraj marking the special journey of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to meet Allah.
