All-rounder Shakib al Hasan today joined the Bangladesh team for the second Test against Pakistan. He joined the team at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium for the practice session.
The left-arm all-rounder is looking to make a return to the national fold having recovered from the hamstring injury incurred during the T20 World Cup.
Shakib had sustained a left lower hamstring strain while fielding during the match against the West Indies during the T20 World Cup.
In clinical examination it was diagnosed as an injury of Grade 1 intensity as Shakib got ruled out from participating in the last two matches of the tournament.
Shakib later missed the three Twenty20 internationals against Pakistan and was then unavailable for the first Test.
The national selection panel included Shakib in the squad for the second Test after receiving positive reports from the team physio.
Shakib Thursday reached SBNCS around two and a half hours earlier than the team practice schedule and had spent some personal time in the nets.
Bangladesh will take on Pakistan in the second and final Test of the series starting Saturday in Mirpur.
Bangladesh are 1-0 down in the series having conceded an eight-wicket defeat in the first Test in Chittagong.
