Record: Bangladesh receives $2.1 billion remittance in July

Bangladesh has received USD $2.1 billion remittances in July, the highest amount in the last 15 month. Bangladesh Bank (BB) published the updated information on Monday (August 1).

This month, expatriates sent remittances of 2.1 billion dollars, the current exchange rate (Tk 94. 70 paisa per dollar), the amount of this money is Tk 19 thousand 856 crore.

According to the report, expatriates sent a record remittance of more than 200 million (2 billion) dollars last April.

In this regard, the executive director of Bangladesh Bank Sirajul Islam told the Dhakaprokash that various processes have been simplified to increase the flow of remittances in the banking channel.

The government also extending remittance incentives as well as providing policy support. Now the dollar rate is getting higher, he added.
