Education Minister Dipu Moni on Thursday said that in-person classes of secondary schools, colleges, and universities will resume from February 22.
“Students aged 12 and above who have received two doses of Covid-19 vaccine, can attend classes in person. Other students will be participating online and TV classes,” she said.
The minister said this in a press briefing at the Secretariat in the morning.
She further said: “Primary schools will not reopen right now. We'll have to wait for at least two weeks for reopening the primary schools.”
Educational institutions were shut for about 18 months from March 17, 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The government opened these last September for in-person classes.
But the government on January 21 again closed schools and colleges to curb the spread of Covid-19 amid a rapid surge in new cases.
