Education Ministe Dr Dipu Moni on Monday said students who have not yet received a single dose of the vaccine will not be able to attend school at this moment.
“The students will take classes online and on TV. At the same time, by January 31, all students between the ages of 12 and 18 across the country will be brought under the vaccine,” she said.
The education minister made the assertion while addressing a press conference at the education ministry's meeting room at the secretariat in the morning.
Earlier on Sunday night, the minister held a press conference to announce the decisions taken at a meeting with the technical committee on Covid-19.
Students can get the vaccine showing their respective school’s identity card. They will not need to show other documents.
The minister further said that in-person classes will continue as usual.
There are over 1.16 crore students, aged between 12 and 18, across the country.
So far, 44 lakh students took the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine and over 4 lakh got two doses.
She added that the vaccination rate is poor among Qwami Madrasa students and the ministry will give directives to the Local administration to take steps in this regard.
