BDC-IUB Pre-Worlds 2022 concluded

The Independent University of Bangladesh (IUB) concluded the 19th BDC-IUB Pre-Worlds 2022 in association with Skitto on Saturday (12 November).

Pre-Worlds is one of the most important debating events of Bangladesh, as school and college debaters came together and competed to participate in World School Debating Championship, which is the world cup of school-level debating.

After 3 long days of debate rounds, IUB Debate Club wrapped up the event with a closing ceremony with awards and acknowledgements for the participants. The whole campus was well decorated with a game theme for the young debaters and participants.

To keep the participants levelled with high energy, the snacks sponsor for the event was Well-Food. To keep all participants hydrated, the beverage partner for the event was Sun Water. The ice-cream partner was Savoy and Cake Partner was Dan Cake.

SHOUT was also the youth partner. The media coverage partner was Dhaka Prokash.

Debaters and adjudicators had also enjoyed a concert after the preliminary rounds ended.

Some 50 different teams from schools across the country came to be a part of this prestigious event. Top-notch adjudicators who judged the debates picked the best of the bests.

Scholastica Uttara has been named the champion and Ideal School and College, Motijheel has been ranked as the Runners Up in the finals. In the novice finals, Mirpur Cantonment School and College has been ranked as the champion and Sunnydale has been ranked as the Runners Up.

The top participants of this tournament will be moving on to the World Schools Debating Championship 2023.
